Amanda first fell in love with Irish dancing when she saw Riverdance 3 years ago, and for lack of available classes has been taught herself to dance using instructional videos ever since.
Amanda has been chosen to perform at numerous local and state talent showcases, and on YouTube where she was discovered by AAIDT adjudicators and appointed the title of 2008’s Self-Taught Dancer of the Year. Amanda won a compete set of AAIDT instructional DVDs, a year of distance mentoring and opportunities to participate in Feisanna and Virtual Feis.

AAIDT is very proud to announce Sharon Stidham’s great achievement of becoming a Licensed Instructor of Irish Dance. Sharon is an instructor at the Achill Academy of Irish Dance in Springfield, Illinois. Hip hip, hooray!

AAIDT partnered with Delaware County Community College to create the nation’s first Academic Certificate in Irish Dancing. The New Career Certification program began in the Fall of 2007, and is facilitated by Daoine Sidhe Academy. The one-year program will apply towards our Teacher Certification Program with the addition of comprehensive
